A few days ago I saw a movie that I liked a lot. Simple, relaxing, with a lot of interesting points of view and learnings. Then I discovered that actually the movie was based on a novel that had international success and I grabbed the book and read it!
The book is called “Hector and the search for Happiness” and it’s written in a fairy tale and satiric way but it’s full of wisdom and metaphors that will make you reflect on your life. I want to share with you the lessons learned by Hector, the main character, a psychiatrist that started a journey to discover what makes people happy. Traveling around the world he listens, observes, asks questions and notes down the most important things he learned.
Check out the lessons below and remember that we have many more lessons and small moments in life that show us what happiness is, so it’s up to you to notice them, record and share them with the people you love.
Exactly as we do with the #smallmomentsofhappiness movement (Hashtag the moments that give you happiness and share them with others. You can also check our own on the Small Moments of Happiness website.)
As today, March 20th, is the International Day of Happiness, I challenge you to read the book and relax by watching the movie. It might not be one of your favorite movies or answer all the questions regarding happiness, but it will definitely have some interesting learnings for you and it will help you reflect. Reflect on your own understanding of happiness and the ways to live it!
