Rise your hand if you like being with positive people! I DOOOOO! Whether it is at home, at work or with friends, being surrounded by positive thoughts will boost our own energy levels and make us feel like we can win against all odds.
Feeling positive, being with positive people will ignite a positive energy flow which will prove to be contagious!
Happiness is not only making us more productive and resilient: it makes our attitude to success much stronger and – apparently – healthier.
Easy to say. However, how to give a positive energy boost to your life/ team/ organization???
Let’s start with with yourself. What can YOU do to kick off a flow on positive energy?
Here some suggestions from various experts:
- smile more. NOW. Try it. (“Smile and the world with smile with you”)
- move. A moderate activity is enough to mobilize endorphin in your body and give you a positive energy kick. What about using staircases instead of the lift and the bike instead of the car every now and then?
- expect only positive results and visualize success. How does it feel?
- see the (maybe small) positive things in your life – count your blessings. I just had a great cappuccino. Isn’t that already a great start?
- identify the one or two things that make you feel good. Like meeting a friend for lunch. Putting on a nice dress (THAT WORKS WONDER). Or a bit of nice perfume.
- try new things. Maybe you can cook something you never did before that is a little more challenging than usual. If you go running, you could run 5 min longer. Take a different route to work. In essence: stretch yourself a little. Just a little…
- spend time with positive people who make you feel good.
- keep on doing a good job in tough times. It is rewarding, motivating and it is essential for your self-trust.
- meditate: that will help you to focus. Take 10 min a day, seat in a quiet corner and focus on your breath.
- eat for balance: indulging every now and then is not a problem (I am not going to start talking about the scientific evidence that chocolate is making us happy!). However, try to enrich your diet with “good” food too: not only “5 serving a day” of fruit and vegetables and less saturated fat, but as well omega 3 aliments (from salmon to almonds). This will give you energy and boost concentration.
Now, take the challenge: write down 3 new things every day for which you are thankful. Do that for 21 days. It is a change of perspective for life!
What will your next success be??
