Looking for the best way to describe what vulnerability is to me I stumbled across a quote by Ashton Kutcher (let’s be honest it’s a little hard to describe this term). So, “vulnerability is the art of being uncalculated, the willingness to look foolish, the courage to say ‘This is me, and I’m interested in you enough to show you my flaws.”
Why is vulnerability connected to creativity?
“Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.”
So these two things, creativity and vulnerability, are interconnected and in order to reach that real creative space you should strive to become vulnerable. What I have learned in this process is that we should keep pursuing our dreams/actions. If you are into writing and you feel you have it in you then keep on writing. You shouldn’t be aiming for perfection cause there is no such thing. You should just keep on writing.

Creativity comes from the heart. If you are not ready to let go and truly express yourself the big inspiration won’t flow. It will stumble and will make you stutter and in the end nobody will even listen or watch what you have created because it will be too main stream. Of course, your family, friends might. But, in order to inspire and truly send a message you have to get to the state were “being perfect” won’t matter. Vulnerability should lead your path. It should be the art trigger.
I honestly believe that creativity is the voice of the heart. It’s when you stop doing the things in the way you are supposed to do them. In this moment you rise above average. You forget about norms and other standards and you just create magic.
To do that, you should get to the point where you dismiss everything you’ve been told and let you inner soul shine.

I agree that creativity is linked to vulnerability and when I let myself be vulnerable I notice more and I can capture more things from the outside and transform them into creative things inside of me… This is just how it works for me. 🙂

Great piece Stefania. The vulnerability comes from being free of form, almost without a shell as you flow into a new form. It takes courage to make this step, but it is what makes us come alive or even stay alive in some cases.
